About 57,000 vehicles risk de-registration for being inactive on the National Vehicle Register for more than five years.
The vehicles have failed to meet statutory requirements, including renewal of Certificates of Fitness and Road Tax.
The Road Transport and Safety Agency -RTSA- has given owners 14 days to regularise their vehicles or risk de-registration.
In a Statement to ZNBC News, RTSA Head of Public Relations Chilufya Mwewa says the de-registration process will begin 14 days after publication of the notice in the print media.
Ms Mwewa has urged vehicle owners to check the RTSA website to determine whether their vehicles are on the de-registration list and regularise their compliance within the notice period.
